A nice park, I would call it the lake park. Great veiw of Lake of the Woods. A picnic area with nice beach area not fancy though. Trails are ok but not great. You come here for the lake view.
8/9/23. Zippel Bay is all about the beach. I had visited before in June and there were lots of flies. However this time in August there were no flies. White pelicans can be seen skimming the waves and a group of them were on the wall leading out to the Coast guard lights.
The beach is definitely beautiful but needs some cleaning. It would be good if the dried wooden branches amd sticks would be raked/gathered from the beach area. Maybe the picnic shed needs a touch up or maybe put up a new one like that found in Lake Bronson Swimming beach. I would still go back to Zippel Bay.
Park has a nice lake access with the marina and swim beach. Unfortunately high waterbof 2022 has destroyed the trail from the beach to the bay. Plus it is difficult to beach comb since the long sandy shorelines are gone. Park is beautiful …
Very unique park, glad we made the trip up from the cities!
One of the best state parks I’ve camped at. It was not crowded and I felt like it was my own secret getaway. We stayed in the Anglers Loop. The beach was great also. Only downside is I wish we had a boat with us to enjoy the lake more.
This is a great state park with a beautiful beach, nice trails and quiet campgrounds. Best blueberries too! Lake of the Woods has excellent fishing also. We started coming here when our kids were young and now we're coming with them as adults and our grandchildren!
Dump station.
Fantastic park employees.
Scenic & beautiful.
Horse friendly.
Love this state park. Fish cleaning and marina included in the camping fee. Where else do you get that for less than 25 dollars a night!
Clean restrooms, info board. Walked out a ways in the water and still not to deep for a child. It's a state park so I did stop at location and paid a 7 dollar day fee. Just filed out a card and dropped my payment in a slot provided so if …
